Project description: This project is located within the urban area of Nanaimo in a residential neighbourhood.  The garden features a combined permaculture/ornamental front planting which includes many edible plants. Dwarf fruit trees along with various other edibles occupy an area which was once asphalt paving. The back garden contains a food forest planting, annual cropping areas, concrete unit paver patio, rainwater harvesting and lawn alternative.

Objective: The home owner wanted to create a highly productive permaculture landscape with food forest, annual cropping beds and a patio while keeping the aesthetic value high.
